The final Grand Prix of the season saw Cal Crutchlow make a valiant comeback to finish eighth in Valencia. On board his number 35 RC213V, the British rider finished his third year with LCR Honda in 9th place in the world rankings.
The race marked the end of the Championships, with Marc Márquez coming out on top to take his fourth MotoGP world title (the sixth world title of his career).
Finishing the race, Crutchlow was satisfied. “I set off a long way behind and getting back in position on this track is really difficult.” His thoughts on this year’s Championship? “Overall I’d say it was a good season and I’d like to thank everyone for the support they’ve given me.”
Team Principal Lucio Cecchinello was also pleased. “We finished in a good ninth place, which we’re pleased with. The season was incredibly exciting. Let’s not forget that third place in Argentina! I’m now looking forward to embarking on a new adventure with Cal and Taka.”
The 2018 season is just around the corner for Team LCR Honda, which will be on the track again in Valencia on Tuesday and Wednesday for pre-season tests—this time with two riders.
For the next MotoGP Championships, the team will be deploying young Japanese rider Takaaki Nakagami alongside Crutchlow.
